About:
WALL-E (voiced by Ben Burtt) is a robot that was left behind on Earth to clean up the mess while the humans vacate and live on a spaceship. At the start of the film WALL-E has been alone for hundreds of years so he has developed a glitch, a personality. WALL-E is fascinated by the world that surrounds him and even though he obeys his command to clean, he sometimes finds a thing or two that he keeps for himself because they're interesting. WALL-E's most prized possession is the film he stumbled upon "Hello Dolly". "Hello Dolly" teaches WALL-E to hold hands, which he thinks is how you say "I love you".
WALL-E's unique and friendly manner has an affect on everyone he meets, including the other robots. Take M-O for example, because of WALL-E, M-O acts on his own and leaves the pre set travel paths to follow WALL-E and clean the trail he leaves behind him. WALL-E also has an affect on humans, he breaks Mary and John out of their technological coma state that has consumed their lives, they then learn to enjoy each others company and act more, well, human-like. Even the dirt covering WALL-E intrigues the captain and causes him to research Earth and become determined to return home and clean up the mess they created 700 years ago. And most importantly, the effect WALL-E has on EVE. EVE is rigid, she follows her directive and nothing else, but WALL-E teaches her to feel and to love.
Continued
WALL-E, the single surviving robot left behind to clean up Earth, is still hard at work 700 years after the humans have vacated the planet and is totally naive to the situation surrounding him. During his loneliness WALL-E has befriended a cockroach, whom he has named Hal. Though WALL-E obeys his directive of cleaning up rubbish by compacting it into small cubes, he develops curiosity and begins collects a few objects that interest him, which he keeps inside his truck. WALL-E spends quite a bit of time in his truck whenever there is a storm outside so he has had plenty of time to sort through his collection, his most prized piece being an old copy of the musical "Hello Dolly!"
One day when heading home from work WALL-E spots a red thing that zips away from him, his curiosity compels him to follow it, paying deep attention to it and failing to notice several other identical dots trailing behind. As soon as the red thing stops and WALL-E catches up with it he tries to pick it up, but it turns out it is the light of a ship about to land. WALL-E just escapes being crushed by quickly digging a hole and hiding in it. When he emerges from his hole he sees EVE, a robot sent to Earth to check for signs of photosynthesis, proof that life is sustainable for the humans again. WALL-E fascinated with this new robot, and desperately lonely, soon falls in love with her, hoping to hold her hand like he has seen in his movie. After slowly easing her around he shows her a few of his collections, including his newest item, a plant. As soon as EVE sees the plant she stores it inside her and goes into standby mode. WALL-E tries to wake her but fails, so for the next few days WALL-E takes her out on 'dates'. He eventually begins to give up on her awakening and returns to his directive but is distracted, he cant stop thinking about EVE.
When EVE's ship returns to collect her, WALL-E clings to the hull and travels through space till he reaches the Axiom, the main spaceship that the humans have been living on. Once on the ship a cat and mouse chase begins as WALL-E tries to follow EVE around the ship, WALL-E is followed by the cleaning robot M-O who is now set on cleaning WALL-E's foreign contaminants. Once of the bridge WALL-E hides and watches. He is soon discovered and EVE presumes he has stolen the plant from her as it has just been revealed to be missing. Both robots are sent to maintenance, WALL-E to be cleaned and EVE to be fixed for being 'faulty'. WALL-E only being able to see the silhouette of EVE believes she is being hurt and immediately takes action in rescuing her, accidentally setting all of the broken robots free as he does so. After a chase by security, EVE attempts to send WALL-E home in an escape pod but instead the two discover the plant again. WALL-E goes to retrieve it but is shot out into outer space and only just manages to escape the pod which has been set to self destruct. WALL-E receives a kiss from the very grateful EVE and they return to the Axiom.
WALL-E is instructed by EVE to lay low near the pools while she travels up the garbage chute to give the plant to the captain. But WALL-E gets tired of waiting and follows her up the chute. WALL-E saves the plant from falling down the chute because Auto has tried to dispose of it, but is then electrocuted and sent down the chute with the plant and EVE. WALL-E and EVE are saved from being being sucked into outer space by M-O who blocks the doors and keeps them open. EVE, having witnessed security files of WALL-E caring for her changes her directive to caring for him. WALL-E reveals that he is too damaged and EVE realises to only way to save him is to get him back to Earth. In one last fight EVE manages to place the plant in the holo-detector, but WALL-E gets even more damaged by helping her. Once back on Earth, WALL-E is rushed to his truck by EVE who then reassembles him. WALL-E is fixed but has lost all of his memories and personality, however in one last kiss from EVE, WALL-E regains all of his old information and together with the humans and other robots they help rebuild Earth to its former glory.

EVE - By Zlindt See
Extraterrestial Vegetation Evaluator
ABOUT:
EVE is Wall-E’s love interest, who is a dedicated, concerned, brave and caring character. EVE is voiced by Elissa Knight, who is a voice actress working for Pixar Animations in America. EVE stands for Extraterrestial Vegetation Evaluator. She is appeared to be a small sleek white robot, with blue LED lights for her eyes. She was designed with the help of the company Apple, Jonathan Ive who designed the iPod. She possesses the ability to fly/hover, fire a plasma cannon and create an electric field. In the beginning of the film, EVE is sent to Earth to search for plant life and causes a great disruption causing fire by her cautious nature. She is heavily focused on her job, to find plant life on Earth and is greeted by the friendly WALL-E on Earth who is going through his everyday routine of crushing rubbish into square compartments. EVE is reluctant towards being friends with WALL-E due to her strict idea of following orders and dislikes being interfered and does what she is told. As in the film when she first meets WALL-E, she is armed with her plasma cannon to instinctively protect herself. WALL-E soon after meeting her, takes her to his trailer where he shows her his collection of items, such as the light bulb, rubik’s cube, and the plant where she is enthralled by all the items WALL-E has found over the centuries. EVE not forgetting her mission collects the plant shown by WALL-E and places it into her plant compartment.
WALL.E: [showing EVE bubble-wrap and popping a bubble] Pop!
[points to EVE]
WALL.E: You pop!
However EVE shuts down and leaves WALL-E in a panic however he shows his care and kindness through protecting her through rain by holding an umbrella but however gets electrocuted, he also ties a Christmas light to take her wherever he goes to protect her. Although EVE does not realise WALL-E’s care for her yet, WALL-E is slowing becoming more than friends as he is shown in the scene where he tries to hold her hand and watch the sunset.
EVE however is soon taken to Axiom, the ship in outer space to be delivered to the captain to observe. Despite it being a huge risk of getting caught, WALL-E follows EVE to outer space, and showed his true care and sacrificed himself to take care of EVE. They soon share moments together when they are in space as they danced together happily throughout space. Although EVE was seen to be reluctant towards WALL-E in the beginning, she changes throughout the film showing her care for WALL-E, trying to save him from the small craft before it exploded. However viewing the explosion of the craft, she shows concern repeating, “No, No, No” She then sees WALL-E fly across with the fire extinguisher and her mood quickly brightens and is clearly shown that she is happy and cares about him as she cries, “WALL-E!” with joy.
Her protective nature has caused her to be cautious about everything as she is a strong figure in the film. In the film she is in return protecting WALL-E by keeping him safe from robots that try to cause harm to them. In the end, EVE shows that she is more than a robot who follows orders by showing human-like qualities by caring for WALL-E and not giving up on hope despite WALL-E ignoring her, as she tries to replay memories they had and playing his favourite song from the movie “Hello Dolly”.
In the beginning of the film EVE is depicted to be very protective and determined as she uses her plasma cannon to protect herself and was very cautious towards WALL-E. However as the film continues she begins to open up and show more emotion and care. Despite being a more sympathetic, she never forgets her “Directive” to follow her order to protect the plant no matter what showing her unwavering mind and dedication.

Auto By Alice Hassett
The ships auto pilot
ABOUT:
Auto is the main antagonist in film who’s main objective is to stop the ship from returning to Earth. The Auto units are robots built by the Buy N Large Corporation, and designed to function as the autopilot aboard the strarliner spacecraft. He is in the shape of a wheel and has a red eye in the centre of his wheel. Auto’s primary function is to assist the ships captain with his or her duties but the captain’s extreme obesity means that Auto more or less runs the ship and seems to have power over the captain himself. In one scene this is shown by Auto telling the captain when to go to bed.
[Auto appears near the Captain] “Auto Earth is amazing! These are called ‘farms’. Humans
would put seeds in the ground, pour water on them, and they grow food – like, pizza!” – Captain
[Auto shuts off information display] “Good night, Captain” – Auto
“Awww” - Captain
Auto’s increasing control is also shown in pictures on the wall. The pictures are of all of the captains who have been in charge of the ship, in each of them Auto is in that background, but as time goes on he gets closer and closer to the front of the picture (see bottom of page).
Auto works against the captain, WALL-E and EVE to try and prevent them from going back to Earth but he is not doing this for personal gain, he is following a secrete directive. Unlike the other robots in the film Auto is unable to think for himself, his only concern is following his directive and he can be quite ruthless pursuing his orders.
“Must follow my directive” – Auto
Auto’s central red eye is a direct reference to HAL 9000 in in Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. Auto an HAL both share a central red eye and a secrete directive that they attempt to carry out. When attempting to follow their directive, Auto and HAL, do not care, or are unable to care, about the people that they may hurt while following it. However it is debated whether Auto is really evil or if he was just following orders.
